For more than 35 years, Galerie Papillon has been renowned for its cutting-edge program and distinctive editorial approach, bringing together international artists who share a common sense of poetry and irony. The gallery offers them a large exhibition space in its 250 m² main area sur cour in the Marais district, a stone's throw from the Centre Pompidou. Meanwhile, the first floor features exhibitions in a more intimate space, like a collector's apartment.

Founded in 1989 by Claudine Papillon, the gallery has a long history of working with artists who have gone on to become renowned, such as Sigmar Polke, Dieter Roth, Michael Craig-Martin, and Hreinn Friðfinnsson and Erik Dietman, whose estates the gallery now represents.

Partner since 2007, Marion Papillon now runs the gallery and continues to prioritize long-term relationships with artists. Together, they are constantly expanding the team with the aim of supporting French and international artists, whether emerging, mid-career, or established.

The gallery's role extends beyond the walls of the space itself. Marion Papillon founded Paris Galerie Weekend in 2014. She was also President of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d'Art from 2020 to 2025, after serving as Vice-President from 2014 to 2019.

Marion and Claudine Papillon give Galerie Papillon its identity: two generations with two complementary visions sharing the same values and a common commitment: to promote artists and their work on the international art scene and to support contemporary creation in all its richness and diversity.
